We’re excited to announce that 100% of every purchase made on November 11 and December 31, 2024, will go towards K9s For Warriors, an organization committed to ending veteran suicide. This is just the start of our ongoing efforts to support this incredible organization.
Their work hits close to home for us here at hi Seltzers: our co-founder, Lou, is a veteran and former first responder himself who aims to raise awareness about veteran PTSD and trauma. His journey to co-founding hi Seltzer was, in part, actually inspired by his search for the best weed for PTSD.
To learn more about K9s For Warriors’s life-saving work and where your dollars from today’s purchase will go, keep reading.
First Things First: What is K9s For Warriors?
If you didn’t know, about 20 veterans die by suicide every day. (Yes, you read that right: Every. Single. Day.) K9s For Warriors is an organization that’s committed to changing this statistic, giving these heroic men and women a new leash on life. Their approach is simple but highly effective: providing highly-trained service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma.
Backed by scientific research, their program is focused on mitigating the debilitating symptoms of service-connected traumas. By the end of the program, K9s For Warriors doesn’t just change veteran lives: they save them. 92%* of their graduates report a reduction in medication, while 82%* report reduced suicidal ideation. These men and women are ultimately able to lead a life they didn’t think possible, reuniting with their families, going back to school, and finding renewed enjoyment in their day-to-day lives.
Even better, K9s For Warriors is saving lives on both ends of the leash. The majority of their service dogs are rescues, giving these pups a new purpose to serve a veteran in need. Each pair who graduates from the K9s For Warriors program represents two lives saved – the service dog and the Warrior.
